There's a lot going on in the weeks since Biden dropped out of the race and Kamala became the nominee.
Today, that was made official. Despite the fact she received zero primary votes, she's now the Democratic Party nominee. I'll refrain from the 'defenders of democracy' commentary, because we know that's a lie.
But now it's go time.
The GOP needs to focus. There are 94 days until the election. This will work to Kamala Harris' advantage; the more voters see of her, the less they'll like her. So make sure they see a lot of her.
She's underwater on her job approval, and that's with the glowing media coverage:

So imagine how her disapproval numbers will go up if the voters see who she really is.
The ads quite literally have written themselves. Earlier today, I posted video about Kamala going all Grinch on us over DACA kids. Her most recent off-script comments were a cringeworthy word salad. We have video of her calling for gun confiscation a la Australia, opposing fracking, favoring a ban on red meat, eliminating private health insurance, 'reimagining' public safety (read: defund the police).
Kamala knows these are losing policies, because unnamed staffers are walking back these positions. As I argued here, the fact these statements are rolling out from anonymous campaign staffers and press tells me Kamala still holds her positions and can play the 'I never said I'd changed' card if she's actually elected.
Notice I didn't write 'when she's elected.'
Because I really hope that doesn't happen.
And there's one way to stop it: for the GOP to remain laser focused on Kamala Harris' record. This is such an easy layup that I -- a freelance writer with degrees in English and Nursing, not poli-sci -- can see it.
So here's the how the GOP should proceed:
Focus on these issues.
First, when the media tries to distract you with questions about whether or not JD Vance is 'weird', your response should be to pivot those questions back to the issues.
'You know what's weird? Gas costs more than it did in January 2021.'
'You know what's weird? Unemployment shot up to 4.3% in July and jobs numbers for May and June were revised down.'
Don't let them frame the narrative. Make their distracting questions about the big issues people care about: the economy, immigration, her radical Leftist positions. Not race or Kyle Rittenhouse or issues that distract and damage the campaign.
Take every single video I've linked above and turn them into campaign ads. Now. And place ad buys in every swing state. These short ads from the Trump campaign are brilliant and effective. But the GOP needs to remind people who Kamala Harris is and what her presidency would look like.
The best week the Trump campaign had was right after the debate -- the Democratic Party was in meltdown mode and Trump said nothing. Just let the Democrats twist in the wind. It was perfect: disciplined and let the focus be where it belonged.
Now the GOP requires that level of focus and discipline again.
This is a winnable election. Kamala is unpopular and unlikable. She brings nothing new to the table in terms of voters or policies, plus she has the added baggage of being part of the Biden administration. The AWFLs and white dudes were going to vote for anyone with a D after their name, but the chance to bring moderate, undecided voters to the Trump camp comes from focusing on how awful Kamala Harris has been and will be as president.
The economy. Immigration. The economy. Radical gun control and defunding the police. The economy. Bans on red meat and fracking.
And have I mentioned the economy?
