Some nights, I lie awake imagining what America would look like if our legacy media institutions were even remotely honest.
Not conservative, not liberal, not trying to push any narratives. Just ... honest.
I know there's really no such thing as "objective" media. The very process of what the news chooses to cover is a subjective judgment, even setting aside how they choose to cover those stories.
But if the media simply understood their job to be reporting facts, not influencing opinions, can you just imagine it?
Sadly, that is a pipe dream. At least for now, as the legacy media continues to dig its own grave.
I wrote recently that the memos don't even need to go out anymore; the media has them memorized.
As we hit Election Day today, the memo that didn't need to go out is that delays in reporting results are TOTALLY NORMAL. Do not question that and do not look for signs of fraud. That's just crazy talk.
On Halloween, it was PBS (which, thankfully, no longer is funded by our tax money) that came out and announced that not only are delays normal, but candidates suddenly surging into the lead in the wee hours of the morning is also "totes approps."
If you go to bed on election night and don't know who won a midterm congressional race, that's normal. And if you wake up the next morning and find that a candidate who was behind hours earlier has since pulled ahead, that's normal, too. (via @PolitiFact) https://t.co/qXoZPnofJf

PBS was ratioed into the sun for that little bit of agitprop, but that obviously didn't deter the rest of the legacy media.
This morning, CBS News joined in the chorus.
If you think that delays are not normal, and are leading indicators of fraud or cheating, then you are the problem, not the election.
Control of the House and Senate may not be immediately clear on election night, and some of the 2026 midterm election calls will take longer than others. But that's not unusual or an indication of fraud, as some candidates may claim. https://t.co/dozrW0svRV

Gosh, that's weird. Because that's not what we tell third-world nations about elections.
In fact, we tell them almost the exact opposite.
@realLizUSA So funny... all the election handbooks for running fair elections in third-world nations mention, over and over, that "delays" in vote counting are cause for concern. https://t.co/UhkF7NhBQG

That screenshot is from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, one of the world's largest institutions for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
But it reads like the DNC playbook.
And, sure enough, there have already been "problems" (wink, wink) with the usual suspects, like Maricopa County, Arizona, last night.
BREAKING: Maricopa County Elections says power issues forced two vote centers to close temporarily. Voters are being told to check the county's website for another location. https://t.co/gaZhEYwaTm

"Power issues." Uh-huh. Why not just blame a water main break again?
Of course, these types of issues only hit Republican-leaning locations in Maricopa County. Funny how the media is never curious about that.
It's probably just a coincidence, right, CBS News? Like what's going on in another battleground in Westchester County, NY, this morning.
BREAKING: Voting machine problems across Westchester County on Election Day! The culprit: paper ballots that are too thick for the machines to accept. The Board of Elections says ballots will be secure and every vote will be counted. https://t.co/YVVMsUWhLr

Oh, I feel so much better with their "assurance." Doesn't everyone?
Fortunately, this year, the Trump administration and the DOJ are much better prepared for the Left's bag of dirty tricks, far more than they were in 2020, and certainly far more than Biden's DOJ in 2024. Thousands of attorneys, poll watchers, and election monitors have been deployed to try to stop the malfeasance, which is now a key pillar of Democrat electoral strategy.
Maybe THE key pillar.
But none of that excuses the media, which is still trying to play the "nothing to see here" game.
The media instinctively understands that election delays are good for the communists. That’s why they run this propaganda. There is NOTHING usual about taking days to count ballots. Countries all over the world count them and have the results the same day. Democrats cheat in elections.

Of course, CBS and PBS are not alone. NBC also got into the game.
In their case, they've employed the "move the goalposts" tactic.
NBC News 2020: there’s no such thing as voter fraud. NBC News June 2026: there’s not evidence of “widespread” voter fraud. NBC News yesterday: the people voting illegally we told you didn’t exist are here legally. https://t.co/8saHInvNcw

That's just perfect. An illustration in three headlines of the leftist stages of denial:
1) It's not happening.
2) It's happening, but it's so rare that it doesn't matter.
3) It's happening often and here's why that's a good thing.
Someone might want to inform NBC, allegedly a news organization, that it doesn't matter if non-citizens are here legally. They're still not allowed to vote in federal elections.
And I'm also guessing that NBC is lying about how many of them are here legally. Would anyone care to bet against me on that one?
How can people be so blind not to see that the media is helping to set up the cheating? Hey @CBSNews go dig into your archives and dig up ANY such headlines before 2024!
— Barry Cunningham (@barrycunningham) November 3, 2026
On the contrary, I am pretty sure we could find plenty of headlines from CBS circa January 2017 that tried to send the exact opposite message.
Or do they think we all forgot about how many years they ran with the "Russia collusion" hoax?
I'm 70 years old, so I've been through a lot of elections.

You are lying.
It's not normal.
That is a recent artifact of accepting late ballots, cheating, and mailing ballots to everyone, also cheating, refusing to require ID and then claiming there is no evidence of fraud,…
They know it's not normal.
That's why they are trying to normalize it.
All we need to do is look to Florida under Governor Ron DeSantis.
If an entire state of nearly 24 million people can count all of its votes within hours (or less), why do blue states need days or even weeks?
We know why.
What's worse is that the media knows why as well. But they will never say it. They prefer to gaslight Americans.
We do not live in the era of manually counting paper ballots anymore. "Hanging chads" are a thing of the past. Ballots are scanned electronically, even absentee ballots. Results should be nearly instantaneous.
Anyone telling you that delays are "normal" isn't just lying to you; they are actively undermining our elections.
I had higher hopes for Bari Weiss at CBS, and I know she still has a lot of work to do to clear out that swamp.
But this is a story she should have spiked immediately, along with the "reporter" who wrote it and the "editors" who approved it.
