I've written several times about why the Left hates Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham. She's young, beautiful, white (they don't like that at all), and seems genuinely happy (they REALLY hate that). Also, she refuses to fall in line with the alphabet cult that has come to dominate and define the WNBA.

I used to think that last one was the biggest reason they hate her, but it's not. Cunningham also has a HUGE influence among young female athletes. Girls who have found their courage in Cunningham's example and spoken out about being forced to share locker rooms with and compete against biological males.

I think that's it. That's the real reason, above all others. The more girls who follow the example set by Cunningham and other brave athletes like Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlon, the less influence the cultural Marxists will have over them, trying to brainwash them into abandoning their dreams to mediocre, cheating men.

And Cunningham's influence is only spreading. We've seen many individual young athletes speak out in recent weeks, but this week, nearly an entire team of young athletes planted their feet in the ground (almost literally) and said, "NO!"

As the video from Amy Sousa above notes, the cross-country meet took place in Washington state, where half the team of girls refused to accept a boy — who could finish no better than 79th place when competing against other boys — running in their race.

We sure hope he and his parents are proud of his second-place finish in this race, achieved only by cheating and because half of the competitors refused to race against him.

We've seen this type of courage before from young girls, most notably with a high school girls' softball team in Minnesota and, three years ago, with the entire Roanoke College women's swim team.

Despite all of the progress the country has made, however, in defeating the trans cult that seeks to erase women (and despite the protests of Democrat media types that "this never happens"), these policies are still in place in many blue states across the country. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon is suing these states to force them to comply with Title IX, but while those lawsuits are running their course, young girls are still being relegated to second-class citizen status as weak men in womanface continue to steal from them.

While the Left likes to complain about things like "systemic racism" (which doesn't exist) and try to make up stories about sexual abuse on the campus of Cornell University, what too many young female athletes are forced to endure is quite literally systemic oppression: the government enacting policies meant to subjugate them. All in the name of "inclusion."

The lawsuits are important, but the real way to end this has always been when the women themselves refuse to participate in the farce. Now that popular Cunningham has joined the chorus of other athletes and influencers before her in denouncing the practice, I can only hope we'll see more girls stand up, walk off the field, track, court, or rink, and say, "Abso-friggin-lutely NOT!"

Just as importantly, we must celebrate them when they have the courage to do so.

Jennifer Sey is doing her part and has already cut an XX-XY ad praising the girls for their bravery.

Sey added a simple yet shameful truth in a follow-up tweet:

Sad but true.

But hopefully not for much longer.

There is a ballot measure this November in Washington State. A "Yes" vote on I-638 would require all school districts and sports governing bodies in the state to prohibit biologically male students from competing with and against female students.

In the ultimate twisted irony, the ACLU and — believe it or not — the League of Women Voters both oppose the measure. While this is laughable, it is not surprising, since those organizations do not care at all about civil liberties or women. Only more power for the Left.

But I-638 stands a real chance, even in a deep blue state like Washington. The measure has garnered widespread support and a LOT of fundraising money. If it can pass there, similar measures can pass nearly everywhere.

Gaines is not wrong.

For those who don't recognize the photo, this is male official Jock Semple trying to yank Boston Marathon runner Kathrine Switzer off the course in 1967. He failed. Switzer became the first woman to complete the marathon. A few years later, all women were officially allowed to compete, followed by the creation of separate categories for men and women.

That's fairness and equality. What happened at a cross-country meet in Washington this week was the exact opposite. The girls on the team understood that. They collectively said no.

For that, they are heroes and should be recognized as such.

Anyone who continues to allow, let alone encourage, this to happen?

Nothing but cowards.
