I watched the clip of Tara Setmayer on CNN NewsNight trying to defend Ilhan Omar after federal agents searched her home, and I honestly don’t know how she keeps a straight face.
Or how she can stand to look at herself in the mirror.
What a FLAMING hypocrite this broad has become.
Omar’s Washington-area house got raided as part of a criminal investigation into immigration paperwork her late father filled out when she was a kid. Instead of addressing any of that, Setmayer’s big move is to pivot straight to January 6th.
No really.
That’s the defense.
Not a denial of the underlying allegations, not a clear explanation of the paperwork, just “January 6th” as if that magically makes a search warrant disappear. It’s the same tired routine she’s been running for years.

Setmayer used to call herself a Republican consultant until Trump showed up, then she bolted for the permanent anti-Trump circuit. Now she’s on CNN treating every Trump-adjacent enforcement action like the end of the republic while waving away questions about actual immigration fraud claims.
The fact that she reaches for January 6th when the topic is Omar’s childhood paperwork tells you everything about how thin the argument is. Omar has spent her entire career attacking American institutions and history. When agents show up with a judicially authorized warrant tied to an ongoing probe, the immediate response from people like Setmayer is to act like the real scandal is that anyone would dare investigate.
Never mind that the search happened.
Never mind the years of questions about the documents.
Never mind that THIS INVESTIGATION STARTED UNDER BIDEN.
Just scream about January 6th and hope the audience doesn’t notice the subject change.
The raid is real, the warrant is real, and the paperwork questions have been floating around for a long time. Pretending the only relevant historical event is January 6th doesn’t make the rest of it go away.
It just makes the defense look exactly as weak as it is.
