The billionaire Democrat just rolled out another round of his favorite metaphor, warning that “vile and cruel people” are hacking away at the noble trees of freedom planted by America’s bravest souls, and insisting that now is the moment for everyone to raise their voices.
It’s the kind of soaring language that might sound profound if you ignore the source.

Pritzker governs a state famous for sky-high taxes, chronic budget problems, and cities where violent crime remains a daily reality for far too many residents. Yet somehow the real villains, in his telling, are always those wicked conservatives and the Trump administration chopping down the great American experiment.
I’ve long suspected that when politicians start talking in purple prose about axes and ancient redwoods, it’s usually a distraction from the very real issues they’re failing to solve at home.
And this garbage is no exception.
