As many of my more obsessive, unhinged, hate-filled stalker-trolls will tell you, I was indeed a public servant for roughly eight years. Now, it was not in the traditional sense (it was a Council), but still, I saw plenty of traditional public servants every day, and let me tell you, they do not deserve better. NOW, some public servants work very hard, but sadly, they are far from the norm, at least from what I saw. For example, my first day long, long ago, I walked by a man who was literally sleeping at his desk with solitaire open on his computer. He was not in an office, he was not by himself, he was out in the open, snoring.
Without a care in the world.
I had spent decades in the private world, so this shocked me, but clearly it didn't shock any other public servant.
So, when The Atlantic put out this ridiculousness about how public servants deserve better?
Woof.
America’s public servants are caught in the crossfire of a retribution campaign, William J. Burns argues. They deserved better. https://t.co/JCL3tuCNOM

Yeah, no. They don't.
Americans deserve better.
Sorry, not even a little bit sorry.
