New York City Mayor Mamdani recently surprised no one by claiming that Ronald Reagan's classic quote about Zohran's beloved Big Government is wrong, and that the best thing for people everywhere is cradle to grave "care" by unhinged socialists:
Communist Zohran Mamdani: "[Ronald Reagan] famously said 'The nine most terrifying words in the English language are I’m from the government and I’m here to help'...I disagree." pic.twitter.com/5UiIvdju1B

Comrade Mamdani's been proving he disagrees with Reagan on that one ever since taking office. As Mindy wrote about a few days ago, he's already frozen rents, and what could possibly go wrong?
It might be hot outside but the rent is freezing. pic.twitter.com/EXPaI8emyv

Good luck with that, New Yorkers!
The last thing people who don’t have to rely on government to provide their every need from cradle to grave see before all that changes: pic.twitter.com/k9eRdMxOFi

Fortunately for Mamdani, there's no shortage of lefties who don't think things through (if they did they wouldn't be lefties).
Among fellow travelers who are fooling themselves are the ones who actually believe that Mamdani has balanced a budget.

The infamous quote goes something like "there's one born every minute," and that's incorrect because as we've seen lately there have been at the very least dozens born every minute. If there weren't nobody would vote for socialists and/or leftist Democrats.
He got into office and just started fixing everything bro https://t.co/8ODbCviN6a

No he didn't, bro.
False. He got the money from Kathy Hochul.

Are you unaware of this or just a liar?
And Kathy Hochul got it from taxpayers, current and future.
Here's how Mamdani temporarily "fixed things":
"Fixing things" = Getting a taxpayer bailout from the state. https://t.co/5QaqkIgPsg pic.twitter.com/iJ2mdSOlJ4

There's no better example for how socialists "fix" things.
He literally just needed a huge bail out from Albany and looted the pension fund
— Lord Khriyos 🇺🇸🇺🇦 (@Krhiyos) July 1, 2026
The budget wasn't balanced, he deferred payment on pension by two to three years.
— Reanimator (@luke_tagle) July 1, 2026
That's a massive amount he is currently pretending the city does owe on obligatory spending.
Mamdani is running up NYC's balances like a college freshmen who just got a revolving 29% Visa card. https://t.co/en1XPrV2SY

Then when that bill comes he'd try and get his parents to pay it. The perfect metaphor for the Left's idea of "fixing" things, particularly those who had cushy upbringings thanks to wealthy parents.
