The Hill Admits Kamala's Reach for 'Center Ground' Is Cynical Campaign Strategy

Question: if Democratic politicians think their policies are effective and beneficial to the country why do they always, invariably, run a conservative campaign?

Obama did in 2008 and so did Biden in 2020.

Kamala Harris -- the most Left-leaning member of the Senate during her term -- is now doing the same thing. Or trying to.

She's desperately trying to paint herself as a centrist when her record and her previous campaigns show a very different picture.

The Hill writes:

Vice President Harris is making a big play for voters in the center ground, even if doing so risks sparking discontent among progressives.

The move toward the center is reinvigorating questions over Harris’s authenticity, especially given that she advocated for more left-leaning positions during her 2020 primary campaign.

But the vice president and her allies plainly see the risk as worthwhile, given that the election’s outcome will likely be decided by a sliver of independent-minded voters in six or seven battleground states.

The Hill is giving away the game here, aren't they?

They're saying the quiet part out loud: that Kamala's reach for 'center ground' is really just a mask to get her elected.

Despite Kamala's best efforts to seem moderate, she's very bad at it. Between walkbacks of previous positions that come from anonymous campaign staffers, and Kamala herself getting on CNN to say her 'values have not changed', what we get is not a centrist-presenting candidate but a confusing, inarticulate campaign that has no real platform (but plenty of 'joy' and a boatload of pronouns on her website).

This is also why 53% of respondents said Kamala appears insincere compared to Donald Trump, who they found to be more genuine.

I've written about this in the past, but it bears repeating: Kamala Harris is a radical, extreme Leftist.

Her presidency will be a disaster for all Americans.

She supports gun confiscation, banning private health insurance in favor of single payer health care, radical green agendas that would outlaw gas powered cars by 2024, an exorbitant capital gains tax that will crash the economy, and price controls that guarantee empty shelves and starving Americans.

Rather than discuss policy over the Labor Day weekend, Kamala and her surrogates instead chose to attack Donald Trump and grieving Gold Star families for humiliating Kamala and Biden over their botched, deadly Afghanistan withdrawal. When Kamala got smacked down by the Gold Star families themselves, some supporters doubled down and called those families 'vile.'

This is not a position a centrist takes. This is the position of an extreme Leftist who bows to terror organizations the world over and thinks pro-Hamas protesters outside the DNC 'have a point' all while accepting zero responsibility for her role in the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Yesterday, American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin was murdered by Hamas in Rafah. Back in March, Kamala told reporters (when she was still giving interviews) she'd 'studied the maps' on Rafah (not likely), and that Israel going into the region would be a 'mistake.'

Today, her running mate Tim Walz refused to answer a direct question about Hamas. Kamala merely issued a statement.

Guess those votes in Dearborn are really, really vital to the Harris-Walz campaign, no?

She is.

And she knows her actual policies are electoral suicide. If she were honest about her plans, Trump would win in a landslide.

So she'll lie, pretend to be a moderate, in the hopes the media will drag her across the finish line in November.

But that center ground she's trying to grab is too far out of reach: she is too much of a Leftist to get anywhere near the middle.

Voters need to know this and they need to remember it between now and November.
