I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the Left has spent the last few days acting like a bunch of absolute and total a-holes over Haley Stevens, and it’s been both hilarious and deeply pathetic. The Michigan congresswoman lost a tight primary to Abdul El-Sayed, the Islamic socialist who spent the campaign calling Israel neither an ally nor a friend, and then had the absolute nerve to… not fall in line.
Stevens tried to stand with El-Sayed, she tried to explain how dangerous and unpopular his antisemitic rhetoric really is, but oh no, she wasn't welcome. In fact, El-Sayed told her to stay the hell away from his events.
So, she took that energy and endorsed the Republican instead. And the progressive internet immediately lost its collective mind.
Suddenly the same people who scream that any criticism of a woman (sorry, a Democrat woman, Republican women are fair game as far as Democrats are concerned) is sexist decided Stevens was a hysterical mess who needed professional psychiatric care. One prominent never-Trump lawyer even suggested she check herself into a mental health facility.
Others have gone so far to suggest that as a woman she's having hormonal imbalance issues.
I kid you not.
Because nothing says “we respect women” quite like diagnosing a sitting congresswoman with mental illness for making a political decision you don’t like. Male politicians do this kind of thing all the time and get a few days of grumbling. Stevens does it and she’s suddenly unbalanced, unhinged, and in need of institutionalization. The double standard is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
And the fact that it's coming from the so-called party of women? Just wow.
These people spent years insisting that questioning a woman’s judgment was the height of misogyny. Apparently that rule only applies when she’s attacking the right targets. The second she declines to carry water for a progressive who told her to get lost, the sexist pigs from Hell (I think that should be their new official title) come crawling out with their usual combination of personal attacks and armchair psychiatry.
It’s almost impressive how fast the mask comes off.
Of course, as a conservative woman, I am more than familiar with their so-called brand of feminism. I've been called everything but a white woman by the supposed woman-loving Left. I know, it's the same for people of color (any color) who figure out just how backwards the Democrat Party really is but this has been exceptionally awful.
They compared her to a used condom, ffs.
Vermin.
Clown.
Trash.
Traitor.
Stevens refused to play along, and the movement that claims to elevate women responded by trying to destroy her. The whole thing has been a masterclass in hypocrisy, and the Left is too busy foaming at the mouth to notice.
