Natalie Harp is one of President Trump’s closest aides — the “human printer” who stays by his side, manages communications, and has been the target of endless fascination (and innuendo) from the legacy press. The Post has dug into her family, including her estranged brother Preston, a self-described “gringo Sandinista” living in Nicaragua and supporting leftist revolutionary politics. They’ve written about family polarization, personal tragedies, and the Christian upbringing that apparently makes her suspect.
One story. That’s the scrutiny level for a staffer.
The WP has run more stories (one) scrutinizing Natalie Harp’s family than they have Abdul el-Sayed’s family, despite the fact that Abdul’s mother worked for an Islamic group that raised money for Al Qaeda and his sister was put on the no fly list by Obama. https://t.co/yNVTKPZiU1

Exactly.
Abdul el-Sayed is an actual candidate for the U.S. Senate in Michigan. He’s on the ballot. Voters are being asked to elevate him to national office. And according to Fleischer (and reporting that’s been circulating for months), his birth mother worked for the Islamic American Relief Agency, which the U.S. Treasury designated for supporting terrorism — including financial ties to Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Hamas. Court exhibits show her involvement in transfers and operations.
His half-sister has radical posts and an arrest record tied to protests, and family members have appeared on terror watch lists. Yet the Post’s deep-dive energy stays focused on the Trump aide’s sibling rather than the Senate hopeful’s family history.
So where's that story, WaPo? Oh, that's right ... you're too busy trashing Harp and her family because she works for Trump.
The Washington Post published a one-sided profile of Natalie Harp this morning that dwells on painful, intimate details of a private family tragedy from six years ago. Natalie is a loyal White House staffer who does not do interviews or seek media attention. The piece implies the only reason for her loyalty to President Trump is family turmoil. That framing is baseless. This line is particularly abhorrent. Imagine seeking White House comment on the tragic death of a staffer’s father years earlier, unrelated to her current employment. I’ve never seen a comparable profile of a Democrat staffer. This is gross and fails basic human decency. Intimate family matters shouldn’t be platformed, especially when sourced solely from one side. The Legacy Media is broken beyond repair if this is what they resort to for clicks and sales.

This is peak “Democracy Dies in Darkness” hypocrisy. When it’s a conservative staffer’s family drama, it’s newsworthy innuendo. When it’s a progressive candidate’s documented ties to a group that moved money for terrorists, it’s crickets or “context.”
Fleischer is right to highlight it. Voters deserve the full picture on the person running for office, not just hit pieces on the people working for the other side.
The media’s priorities have never been clearer.
