All I could do when I saw the coordinated messaging that just dropped like clockwork over the plans to livestream Nidal Hasan’s firing squad execution was roll my eyes. A lot. Like, even more than I usually do when I scroll X.
Pete Hegseth and the Pentagon have decided December 3 is the day, right there at Fort Hood, and the public gets to watch because, apparently, some people still think consequences should be visible.
Within hours, the exact same sentence started popping up across accounts. Adam Kinzinger (I know, you're shocked he'd join in something so phony, useless and pathetic) and a handful of others all decided, independently of course, that anyone who has ever side-eyed Ms. Rachel’s content for toddlers must now be a bloodthirsty ghoul for supporting a public execution. The phrasing is so identical it might as well have come with a group chat screenshot and a “copy this” instruction.

Shocker.
I get the cultural fight over Ms. Rachel. Parents have been vocal for years about a preschool YouTuber injecting Pride messaging and Gaza advocacy into content aimed at kids who still need help tying their shoes. Boycotts happened. Criticism happened. That’s called having standards about what three-year-olds absorb. It is not, however, the same thing as cheering for the execution of a terrorist who slaughtered American troops.
The sudden, lockstep talking point pretends those two things are interchangeable.
It also conveniently skips the part where some Fort Hood survivors actually want Hasan dead and are fine with the method — while still having reasonable questions about turning the whole thing into a livestream. But nuance doesn’t travel well when the goal is to paint every critic of progressive children’s media as a monster who wants kids watching firing squads.
It’s the same tired play: if you notice the messaging aimed at children, you’re the problem. And if you think a man who murdered soldiers in cold blood should face the most serious penalty available, you’re the bigger problem. The email went out. The posts went up.
And the rest of us are just supposed to pretend this was all organic.
