Governor Abigail Spanberger rolled into Galax, VA for the 90th Annual Old Fiddlers' Convention, that beloved bluegrass and old-time music bash that's been drawing crowds for nearly a century. She hopped on stage for a quick wave, snapped some smiling photos with the locals, and later declared the whole thing a smashing success full of good tunes and even better company. Grateful to the organizers, proud of Virginia, the usual feel-good package.
Except... video from the event tells a slightly different story.
The moment her name was announced, a healthy portion of the crowd let loose with a solid round of boos loud enough to drown out the introduction. Folks turned their backs, some even flashed less-than-friendly gestures. It lasted all of about 30 seconds before she was off the stage. Not exactly the standing ovation one hopes for when you're trying to play the approachable moderate in rural southwest Virginia.
So that's why this post from her talking about how she had the best time is just more BS from our Gov. Lies-a-Lot.

Republicans on the ground weren't shocked. They point straight at her broken campaign promises on mid-decade redistricting — the power grab that got slapped down by the state Supreme Court — and a first year that's already showing soft poll numbers.
When you campaign as the reasonable alternative and then pivot hard left once the keys to the mansion are in hand, the folks who still know how to tune a fiddle notice.
Spanberger's office insists it was all wonderful conversations and community spirit. Sure. And the chorus of disapproval was just enthusiastic applause, right?
They've seen this movie before. Keep the photos, Governor. The soundtrack tells the real tale.
