AWKWARD! Sooo ... ABOUT Those 'Republicans for Talarico'? Yeah, RIP to THAT Campaign Talking Point

Twitter

Democrat James Talarico’s bid to flip Texas’s U.S. Senate seat has leaned in hard on the idea of Republican crossover voters fed up with the status quo.

Recent developments suggest that particular well may be running dry.

We know, you're shocked. SHOCKED!

A segment on a left-leaning outlet featured three Tarrant County women presenting themselves as moderate or disgruntled Republicans ready to back the progressive state representative against Attorney General Ken Paxton. The campaign leaned into the moment, highlighting the “Republican Moms” narrative as evidence of broad appeal in a state that hasn’t sent a Democrat to the Senate in decades.

There's just one big problem ...

So ... DEMOCRATS.

Sheesh, we totally bought into the whole idea of Republican moms being so taken with Talarico's ideas about God being nonbinary that they gave up all of their principles in order to vote for him.

We feel shocked.

Post continues:

... stuff with her talking about how she’d left the Republican Party because it was too radical… in 2008. Because John McCain was too radical for her.

Democrats.

Not Republicans.

The lie fits a pattern. Democrats eyeing Texas have long courted the “disaffected Republican” demographic, only for the examples on offer to look more like reliable progressive voters wearing temporary labels.

But hey, nice try, losers.
