Won't Someone PLEASE Think About the REPORTERS?! Jake Tapper Hits ALL New Self-Awareness Low

Jake Tapper has officially discovered that the United States Secret Service’s primary mission is protecting the President of the United States, and he is simply aghast that they didn’t also prioritize the safety of the traveling White House press corps and staffers when an Iranian assassination threat forced a Hollywood-level deception operation involving a catering truck, a decoy Air Force One, and a secret flight out of Turkey.

THE HORROR.

Who knew that the people whose entire job is keeping the commander-in-chief alive might treat him as slightly more important than the journalists along for the ride?

So the USSS thought the threat against the president was strong enough to surreptitiously remove him from AF1.

And then proceeded to let the plane full of White House staffers and reporters take off and fly back to the US.

Next up on CNN: Tapper demands to know why the USSS didn’t also issue everyone on the plane a matching “I’m with the president” target for the sake of fairness.

I can't believe that when we were at the first WCHA Dinner, that when the shots rang out the Secret Service covered the President instead of you or me.
