Virginia has a woke, progressive, wack-job educator problem.

We have for a long, long time. Granted, it seems to have gotten worse since the government lockdowns in 2020, but what's happening here in the Commonwealth goes further back than even my time here. When we moved to Virginia from Wyoming in 2016, of course, it felt a lot bluer and more leftist, but it didn't seem to get in our way with school, work, and other facets of life.
Then Northam shut us all down (except booze and abortion clinics), and everything got much uglier much faster.
Especially with our education system here.
And it's only gotten worse.
Case in point:

Clint Mitchell, the @SpotsySchools Superintendent, who is against drug testing teachers, made a post calling a person a "White Supremacist" because they support Trump.

The post highlights two troubling things. First, Mitchell is against drug testing teachers because, he says, it will make people not want to work there. What an odd thing to say, indeed. If requiring basic sobriety is enough to scare away applicants, that speaks volumes about the priorities in some education circles. Good teachers shouldn't have a problem with accountability like that.
Even more alarming is the screenshot of Mitchell calling a person a "White Supremacist" simply for supporting President Trump. Labeling Trump supporters that way isn't just wrong — it's lazy, inflammatory rhetoric that divides communities. And this guy is running a school district?
This is who is in charge of your children's education. Think about that. The leader of Spotsylvania County Public Schools has shown a willingness to smear political opponents with serious accusations and push back against basic standards for staff.
As someone who values truth, accountability, and protecting our kids from ideological nonsense, this is deeply concerning. Schools should be neutral ground focused on learning, not battlegrounds for partisan fights or excuses for avoiding responsibility.
Parents, stay vigilant. Know who your local education leaders are and what they stand for. Our children's futures depend on it.
