If you're like me, you've been watching Democrats melt down over President Trump’s decisive strikes on Iran like it’s the end of the Republic.
Suddenly, every cable news chyron screams 'UNCONSTITUTIONAL!' this and 'NEEDS CONGRESS!' that.
Meanwhile I’m over here sipping my coffee and petting my corgis thinking… wait, haven’t we heard this song before?
Ok, so not the exact song, but close.
In the attached video, Barack Obama stands in the Rose Garden on August 31, 2013, after Assad gassed his own people, and says word-for-word: “Yet while I believe I have the authority to carry out this military action without specific congressional authorization, I know that the country will be stronger if we take this course…”

Did Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, or the entire progressive media complex lose their collective minds? Did they call Obama a warmonger or threaten impeachment? Of course not. They nodded along. Obama asserted the power, floated a strike, eventually asked Congress for a show, then did very little. Crickets from the left.
Fast-forward to March 2026. Trump and Israel hit Iran’s nuclear sites and terror infrastructure in a joint operation to stop the ayatollahs before they can nuke Tel Aviv or hand dirty bombs to proxies. The response from the same Democrats? Full meltdown mode. Closed-door briefings are 'insufficient,' strikes are 'illegal,' and suddenly the War Powers Resolution is sacred scripture.
Give me a break. Obama bombed seven countries. Biden launched strikes in Syria and Yemen without fresh congressional votes. But Trump actually succeeds against the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, and it’s a constitutional crisis?
This isn’t principle. This is Trump Derangement Syndrome in its purest form. The left only discovers “rules” when Republicans enforce them. When their guy flexes executive power, it’s 'bold leadership.'
When Trump protects America and our allies?
