Greta Van Susteren's Post About Her Hubby's Childhood Friends TRASHING Him Over Politics Hits Home for Me

I'm not sure how many of you still use Facebook, but I've kept my account there since 2009 so I can stay connected to some friends and family members. Plus, I like some of the recipe groups ... yeah, I'm super hip that way. Well, for a long time, I stopped posting all my political content on Facebook because I didn't want to create any sort of drama, mainly with my old theatre friends.

*GASP* Yup, I'm a theatre kid. Honestly, there is a clear line between theatre and politics if you think about it, and it makes total sense that I ended up here doing what I do.

For years, I was able to keep my friendship with my 'best friend' from junior high, high school, and college, even though she's a raging leftist and married to a communist. No, I'm not being snarky; he is a true communist. However, her friendship meant a lot to me, so I tried. I bit my tongue, I would hide some of her posts about the teachers' unions, anything to keep my friend.

Ultimately, it didn't matter that I tried to keep things nonpolitical because she unfriended and even blocked me out of the blue. Keep in mind, I had been deliberately avoiding posting about politics to avoid something like this, and ... it didn't matter.

She couldn't be my friend anymore, even after almost 40 years, because of HER politics.
