Thank God for Social Media: Democrats Don't Just Lie; They're Also Really, REALLY Bad at It

meme

As Charles Spurgeon once said, a lie often gets halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.

While this cautionary proverb, later repeated by Winston Churchill and Mark Twain, is still relevant, every time I see a Democrat lie through their teeth, I thank God that Elon Musk bought X.

I know the dead legacy media will always ignore or actively cover for Democrat lies. But these days, with social media, the truth does not necessarily lag so far behind. Often it can kneecap the lie right out of the gate.

There were two great examples of the value of X this week. I know that I could have picked 100 others without breaking a sweat, but these were two of my favorites.

The first came out of Texas when the campaign team for the floundering (and heretical) James Talarico tried to paint Ken Paxton as anti-Texas with one of the left's favorite tricks: deceptive video editing. Watch:

Man, that seems bad! Paxton prefers California over the state he serves as attorney general?

Yikes! That's a campaign killer, especially in a proud state like Texas.

Except that none of it is true, as the outstanding Rep. Brandon Gill quickly pointed out.

Pathetic is right. It's also disgraceful.

They DO think it's OK. In fact, they cannot exist without the lies.

Equally reprehensible were the many lies issued yesterday by Rep Jamie Raskin, who is STILL obsessed with the planned East Wing ballroom at the White House.

Raskin is no stranger to lying. After all, he was one of the architects of the Russia collusion hoax and the multiple impeachments of Donald Trump based on complete fabrications.

Still, this is a doozy, even for him.

Once again, however, social media did not let him get away with it.

... protocols, not some reckless dump on a national park.

Your selective outrage over construction debris ignores decades of White House projects and real environmental failures under Democrat policies. This is just more performative theater from a guy who weaponized committees for political hunts.

Like Talarico's attempted smear, none of what Raskin said is true.

Even Grok knew that Raskin was lying like a rug in every part of his post.

Not only did the administration not 'illegally demolish' anything, and not only did they follow EPA regulations in the construction process, but they also adhered to innumerable other laws, including but not limited to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and National Park Service land management and solid waste practices

To put it another way, the only toxic debris in this situation was the words spewing forth from Raskin's keyboard.

He can't. His entire career is built on deception. He's not going to stop now.

Even just a few years ago, when Twitter was yet one more bastion of disinformation from the left, Talarico's and Raskin's lies would have gotten halfway around the world, and the truth might never have caught up.

Now that Musk has dismantled the apparatus to stifle conservative thought on X -- and even added in a relatively non-woke AI assistant -- they simply can't get away with it anymore. (PS - That's the real reason the left hates him; it's not because he is a trillionaire.)

When the left encounters speech it doesn't like, also known as the truth, their instinctual response is to try to ban free speech. And they won't stop. They will continue to lie, and they will continue to try to make responses to their lies illegal. And the dead legacy media, in the height of irony, will continue to support such silencing measures.

In contrast, I don't want to ban James Talarico or Jamie Raskin from speaking, no matter how despicable their gaslighting is.

Au contraire! I want them to talk as much as possible. I actually LOVE that they posted these lies. Keep it up!

It shows everyone how little substance they have and the depths of depravity to which they have been reduced.

And now that we have X and other independent platforms for free speech (like Twitchy), not only do we not need the legacy media anymore, but also, we can stop their lies dead on the tracks before they can gain any momentum, let alone get halfway around the world while the truth is still lacing up.
