The reality is far less flattering to the left’s self-congratulatory narrative. America’s middle class was built by rugged individualism, explosive free-market innovation, and millions of hardworking Americans chasing the American Dream — not by bureaucratic expansion in Washington. Henry Ford, that notorious right-winger, gave his workers the five-day workweek decades before it became federal law. The explosion of post-WWII prosperity came from capitalism, not the New Deal or Great Society.Bitecofer’s greatest hits — the same programs she celebrates — have saddled future generations with trillions in debt, created massive entitlement cliffs, and turned welfare into a multi-generational lifestyle for far too many.
The Great Society didn’t end poverty; it entrenched it. Medicare and Medicaid are hurtling toward insolvency. “Environmental protections” have become a weapon for radicals to kill pipelines, raise energy costs, and offshore jobs.
