You know, just when I think Virginia Democrats have hit peak absurdity, along comes Dorothy McAuliffe to prove me wrong.
The wife of former Governor Terry McAuliffe had already hauled in over a million bucks for a congressional run in a district that doesn’t even exist (and it never will) after the state Supreme Court killed the new illegal, unconstitutional maps. And of course ActBlue still got its cut -forty grand in fees -because why let a little thing like reality get in the way of a good grift?
It’s the kind of story that makes you wonder how many more 'imaginary' campaigns these folks are planning to cash in on before someone finally calls foul.
Former @GovernorVA Terry McAuliffe’s wife @DSMcAuliffe, had already raised $1.1M for her illegal Congressional run for an imaginary district@actblue cashed $40,000 in transaction fees https://t.co/0LWXwXwAd5 pic.twitter.com/yNURGWbjPm

Oh, and it wasn't just Dorothy McAuliffe who started campaigning before the referendum was voted on.
Nope.
Dan Helmer (a complete and total loser in his own right) also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars.
And it went POOF.
VA Dem @DelDanHelmer had been running for the illegal, imaginary VA-7 lobster 🦞 district for months … raising money… raised $642,000…

But click on the fundraising line… it’s all gone… like a ghost in the SCOVA wind 🌬️ pic.twitter.com/tzfW8ZByVB
My guess is he spent it on a bunch of yard signs and billboards he'll never get to use now.
Ain't it great?
