Joyce Carol Oates doesn't think academia has taken a hard left turn.
Yeah, I laughed too.
The Pulitzer winner, now in her late eighties, had taken to the platform to insist that anybody complaining about academia’s hard left turn must not have darkened the door of a real university department meeting or faculty senate in years. And if you even used the word 'academia' in a sentence, she implied, you clearly weren’t drawing a university paycheck.
Because we all know how CONSERVATIVE colleges are these days, right?
anyone who says "academia went far left" has spent little time at a university department meeting or senate.

in fact, anyone who says "academia" isn't on any university payroll. https://t.co/7RZA66tPDm
Oh, well, clearly, if we're not on university payroll, we shouldn't be talking about academia or something. Right?
anyone who says "academia went far left" has spent little time at a university department meeting or senate.

No offense to any potato brains who may be reading.
This is classic denial.

Is it denial or pure stupidity? You decide.

That, or since she's been around since God was a boy, she's just getting up there. Ahem.
What is this silly drivel?
