I keep finding myself having conversation after conversation with my son, who is a high school senior this year, about why government agencies suck at what they do. He himself noticed when he got his driver's license a couple of years ago; he couldn't believe how long we had to wait even when we'd made an appointment. He'd watch as windows would close even though there were dozens of people waiting and ask me how that was possible. Surely, they could see they have customers who are waiting to be served.
Patiently, I explained they didn't care about the customers waiting because, at the end of the day, they knew their customers couldn't go anywhere else to get the product they were providing. There is no competition for government agencies so they don't have to try too hard to do a good job.
This is why I found it hilarious when I saw Democrat Patty Murray trying to scare Americans into thinking the United States Postal Service will start to suck if they get cut, pretending as if they don't already suck. Leave it to a Democrat to lecture Americans about how they're lucky to get such a crap product and receive such crap service.

Yes, we're sure the billionaires just want to take money from USPS, and it has nothing to do with the amount of fraud and waste in the agency. No no, it's just about enriching themselves. Keep in mind that Musk is the wealthiest man in the world, and Trump isn't exactly living in squalor.
