When the news broke that Elon Musk was actually maybe going to actually end up owning Twitter after all, all hell broke loose. Well, not all hell … just a lot of liberal hell. If Elon Musk were to take over, Twitter could become like a dictatorship. Rules could be capricious and arbitrary and capriciously and arbitrarily enforced, and conservative/Republican/right-wing political opinions could be allowed to flourish while liberals/Democrats/left-wingers could no longer enjoy immunity from punishment. Oh, the humanity!
Musk hasn’t taken over Twitter just yet, but he’s got some people very concerned that he’s already doing dictator-y things. Why, just today, the fine folks at Public Citizen called him out for cracking down on free speech:

Yeah, we’ll have to wait and see if they actually make good on their promise (if Musk does become their boss). It’s entirely possible that they’re just trying to sound stunning and brave and have no intention of actually going anywhere.
