Maine Democrat Senate nominee Troy Jackson found himself on the outside of his own fan club this week after members of the “Mainers for Troy Jackson” Facebook group decided his comments were too rude to belong to their candidate.

An account matching Jackson’s longtime personal profile posted in the group about campaign events, prompting supporters to question whether they were talking to the real thing. One member declared the tone “insulting and patronizing” and said the real Jackson would never speak that way to regular people, let alone his own backers. The admin promptly removed the account “while things settle,” later noting that too many people had raised doubts about whether it was actually him.
This is not the first time Jackson’s online style has raised eyebrows.
In recent days he has mixed it up with critics on Facebook, including a now-deleted comment calling President trump a “child r*pist” and another dismissing a voter’s criticism as “bulls---.”
He's a real sweetheart.
His record in Augusta includes documented outbursts, table-banging, and a water-bottle-throwing incident with a fellow Democrat. Supporters who once viewed him as a blunt but authentic working-class fighter now appear startled when that bluntness lands in their own group. The irony is hard to miss: a candidate whose brand is “real Mainer” just got treated like a troll by the people most invested in electing him.
