Dan Osborn has spent months now insisting he’s just a working-class independent who happens to be running against Sen. Pete Ricketts in a state Democrats decided wasn’t worth contesting on their own.
Nothing to see here, just an everyday guy with absolutely NO party loyalty.

The branding is getting harder to sell. State Democrats cleared the field for him, the leaked tapes keep undercutting the moderate pitch, and on Friday a voter outside the Capitol skipped the courtesy and treated the “independent” label like the campaign slogan it is.
Voters aren't as stupid as Osborn hoped they were, and they're definitely not SHY.
