I keep hearing the same spiel every time another pile of noncitizens shows up on the voter rolls: relax, it was a glitch, the numbers are tiny, nothing to see.
Or, the even more popular, THIS NEVER HAPPENS.
Except of course, it keeps happening.
Sen. Mike Lee is not going along, and thank heaven somebody in the Senate still has a pulse. Lee tore into both parties after Reuters tallied more than 30,000 noncitizen registrations since 2000 across states red and blue.
California.
Pennsylvania.
Texas.
Virginia. *sigh*
The usual suspects plus a few that should know better. And the kicker nobody can answer with a straight face: how many of those people actually voted? Shrug. Honor system. Good luck.

... proof of citizenship to register, says the current system makes voter fraud "essentially impossible to enforce." The bill passed the House and has Trump's backing but has stalled in the Senate, blocked by members of both parties.
The report flagged errors in 11 states including California, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia, attributing them to software glitches and clerical mistakes. But Lee isn't buying the "inadvertent" framing — pointing out that New Jersey alone disclosed 6,600 noncitizen registrations and 400 ballots cast in just two years.
Lee’s SAVE America Act would require proof of citizenship to register. The House passed it. President Trump wants it. Then it wandered into the Senate and promptly got stuffed in a drawer by members wearing both team jerseys. That is the part that should make your blood pressure spike.
If “only citizens vote” is supposed to be the least controversial sentence in American politics, why does it keep dying in committee?
I do not need a conspiracy chalkboard. I need a country that treats ballots like they matter. Citizens only. Proof required. Lists cleaned. If that offends the people who keep calling basic hygiene “extreme,” they can explain it to the voters who still think elections are supposed to belong to Americans.
Pass the bill. Or stop pretending the integrity lecture was ever serious.
