As I scrolled through X this morning, I nearly spit out my coffee when I caught Gavin Newsom in a casual interview clip, lounging on stage and confidently declaring that Fox News is hiding the fact that Texas and Florida are actually the ones burdening everyday folks with sky-high taxes, while his state supposedly goes easy on the little guy.
No, really.
Admit it, if you saw it you had a similar reaction.
It's the kind of bold rewrite of reality that only a politician presiding over a mass exodus from his own paradise could deliver with a straight face.

Texas and Florida are the REAL high-tax states. pic.twitter.com/1PtCN5Uvj8
Yes, it's totally Fox News refusing to report the truth.
Or not.
This is just a blatant, verifiable falsehood. Here's a Wallethub 2025 analysis of the overall tax burden by state:

California is 4th highest.
Texas is 40th.
Florida is 45th.https://t.co/Xb7L4eqGKW pic.twitter.com/thomUTA11S

Look at all the reality. And ol' Gav really thinks he can convince anyone that Texas and Florida have higher taxes? I get it, the man wants to run for president and DeSantis and Cruz could both be a threat but woof, bro. Not even Democrats buy this ...
