Remember when movies were just good? When Hollywood didn't push agendas and narratives and understood their customers just wanted to be entertained? It's been a long time (maybe even the early 2000s) since it seemed like Hollywood actually gave a daggum about what Americans actually want to see versus what they want us to see, so you may not remember it.
But once upon a time, movies were COOL
They were awesome.
Especially during the summer when blockbusters would come out and you could spend a couple of hours in a nice, cool, dark theater simply watching a group of actors tell you a story. They weren't focused on making a statement or forcing you to think. Nope. They just wanted you to buy a ticket and MAYBE a tub of popcorn while you were at it.
Even before COVID, Hollywood was basically done, but the lockdowns and ridiculousness of 2020 really did them in.
So while I wasn't surprised to see this obnoxious poster for 'Jurassic World Rebirth,' it still annoys me. Oh look, there's a woman on the poster even though it's the most dangerous mission yet. Ooooh ahhhh ...

This just freakin' annoys me.
Great, Scarlett Johansson is in the dinosaur movie where she'll probably shock some stupid men about how powerful she really is, teaching us all a lesson about girl power or whatever. You'd think an industry like Hollywood would understand they've been destroying themselves, but their egos simply won't let them.
We're just too stupid to know their movies are important and stuff.
Guess I'll be streaming movies from the 90s again this summer and making my own popcorn.
