If you follow me on X (or Twitter), you know the one thing I've had in my bio for a decade is advice that someone gave me long ago about how to deal with people who hate me. Anyone who spends any time at all having a political opinion and a big mouth like me is bound to be trashed, trolled, harassed, stalked, censored, and even suppressed. Well, some of those were before Elon Musk bought X, but I digress.
Part of being an outspoken conservative woman is being able to hold your own against haters. Leftists seem to think they own women, so when we don't fall in line as they see fit, we are enemy number one UNLESS, of course, there is a person of color around who disagrees with them as well, then we take a back burner. Anyway, long story short, something I've said for years is, 'Smile at people who hate you,' based on an old adage that nothing makes haters angrier than your success.
I live by that, plus wise words from my Grandma F. by marriage, who used to say, 'Keep your sense of humor and stay out of jail.'
Hey, it's good advice.
Well, long story short (I know, too late), watching how Trump treated Gretchen Whitmer today when she was in the Oval Office, and then her behavior after, I think Trump gets my saying about smiling more than anyone else. He may even epitomize it.

Now, during this, she looks like the Oval Office is the LAST place she wants to be, but ultimately, she came out supporting Trump and his tariffs.
I know, I made the same face.

As many people have pointed out, she basically had to do this because she's in Michigan, and the unions are very happy about the tariffs. If she has any grandiose ideas about trying to run for president, she clearly has to pretend to be more moderate than she really is. Never forget what a horrible human being she showed herself to be during COVID lockdowns ... even if she does conveniently support Trump for now.
