As our lovely, brilliant, talented, and coordinated readers know, Mark Zuckerberg has announced his new dedication to free speech and will be moving away from fact-checkers like Politifact and relying more on Community Notes, like Elon Musk. Now, if he had done this say way back in 2020 or even before that, I would applaud his efforts, but consider Musk has already done all of the heavy lifting, it feels like a very self-serving move for Zuckerberg, almost as if he finally read the room and figured out if he kept pandering to the Left and censoring the Right his platform wouldn't last much longer.
Let's not pretend this is really about free speech for Zuck. If he cared about free speech he would never have allowed for right-leaning properties like OURS to be targeted and all but disappeared from his platform. What used to be a fairly strong platform for us has become basically nothing in the last eight years or so, almost as if Zuck's fact-checkers cared more about punishing us than they did getting the truth out there.
Guess you could say I'm way too damn cynical and pissed off to think Zuck actually cares about making sure all of our voices are heard.
Like Musk.

I suppose I'm also still angry over the Zuck Bucks in 2020 and not ready to forgive, forget, or trust Zuck just yet. And from what I'm seeing on social media, I'm not the only one.
