Way back in 2012, when I started writing for Twitchy as entertainment editor, I did quite many posts about Ellen Barkin. I remember her as being the hot femme fatale in a couple of movies back in the '80s, but I had to go to IMDb.com to remember what they were — Johnny Handsome with Mickey Rourke and Sea of Love with Al Pacino. According to her IMDb page, she's kept quite busy, but she fell off my radar until some of her posts started popping up in my timeline the past couple of weeks.
In short, she hasn't gotten any less bitter since I last wrote about her:

Those must be her mourning jeggings
— Ellen Barkin (@EllenBarkin) October 30, 2025
Classy. Is she supposed to be wearing a black dress and a veil over her face still?
Then Barkin popped up a couple of other times, asking questions she really didn't want answers to. I'm assuming this is in response to Commie Mamdani's mayoral victory.
For fuck’s sake, will you please learn the difference between socialism and communism. Look up or shut up

Let's just say a lot of people quoted Vladimir Lenin.
“The goal of socialism is communism” - Lenin

They are effectively the same except in terms of how to seize power.

Socialism is when you're trying to convince the voters to put you in power. Communism is when you feel secure in your power.

Explain it genius

Marx said socialism is an intermediate step on the way to communism. One is the road - the other the destination. Not that different.
— Citizen of Realville (@SoonerBornID) November 8, 2025
Communism is the ultimate goal of socialism. Thanks for listening.

Socialism is communism pretending not to be communism.
— Jon DiPietro (@jondipietronh) November 8, 2025
Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Mamdani are all "democratic socialists," which means they're communists who know better not to call themselves that.
Barkin then asked another question:
What is the difference between ICE arresting and disappearing thousands of innocent people and the Gestapo herding millions of Jews into cattle cars bound for death camps?
— Ellen Barkin (@EllenBarkin) Nov 7, 2025
Don't get me started. "Disappearing" thousands of people? How about detaining them, and not herding them into cattle cars bound for death camps? The best scenario is that they end up on planes bound for their home countries, not death camps.
You mean other than one being deported the other brutally murdered? Other than that small difference?
— Kurt Knapp (@_KurtKnapp) November 8, 2025
The difference is the ones you are whining about are here illegally, and are being sent back home. The Gestapo murdered people. You see the difference?
— Erick Brockway (@erickbrockway) November 8, 2025
Being sent back to your home nation after you illegally enter the US is not being sent to a death camp by the Nazis. What an obscene comparison.
— McClarey (@McClarey2) November 8, 2025
Well, the Gestapo took most of those Jews straight to the gas chambers, for one. It's highly unlikely that ICE is mass murdering undocumented immigrants.
— ♀️Jennifer Gingrich ✡️ (@fem_mb) November 8, 2025
Please don't claim everything you don't like is just like the Holocaust. You water down the true horror of the Shoah.
I'm not a big ICE supporter, but I feel like not sending them to death camps is the obvious answer here.
— Allen Green, MD (@AllenGreenMD1) November 8, 2025
ICE is arresting individuals who are in the US illegally and they are deporting them. The Gestapo took Jewish citizens, sent them to camps, tortured, starved and murdered them for being Jewish.
— Attorney With Twins (@EsqAndTwins) November 8, 2025
It's rhetoric like this that incites violence against ICE agents. Gov. Tim Walz, who could have been vice president, if you can imagine that, called ICE the Gestapo, and then denied he did, despite there being video of him saying it. Democratic members of Congress Dan Goldman and Seth Moulton have both called them the Gestapo. They know what they're doing.
Deportation isn't murder. The difference is pretty obvious.
I'm not Jewish, but I'm offended on their behalf for people abusing Holocaust references like this.
