He anchored the attack in a September 2025 video from a Manhattan immigration courthouse. An Ecuadorian man who entered illegally in 2024 and already had an arrest for assault and criminal obstruction of an airway was detained after a hearing. His wife grabbed at the supervisor. Walsh skipped the husband’s record and the context that agents were making an arrest, not conducting a random street sweep.
The omission is the point.
Walsh needs monsters so he can sell PAXIS, the crowdfunded app he co-founded that coaches people on what to say, what not to sign, and how to document ICE encounters. Every viral clip becomes a fundraising pitch.
This is the same Joe Walsh whose ex-wife once sued him for more than $100,000 in unpaid child support while he lectured the country on fiscal discipline and family values. They settled and issued a joint statement, but the episode showed a man comfortable with high-minded talk and a messy personal ledger. Now the one-time budget hawk calls law enforcement “authoritarian brutality” and begs strangers to keep his project free.
