Justine Bateman has once again entered the heated online discussion surrounding Michigan Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed and claims about Sharia law, offering a clear-eyed defense of core American principles.

Bateman has been on a TEAR this past week, especially after Abdul El-Sayed won in Michigan.
The controversy got even louder after Rep. Nancy Mace shared a video clip of El-Sayed speaking at a 2022 Council on American-Islamic Relations event in Oklahoma about how important it was to introduce Islamic legal codes into the United States.
Bateman’s contribution cut through the noise by drawing a bright line between protected personal faith and the nation’s legal system. She underscored that individuals may practice their religion freely under the First Amendment, but that does not extend to rewriting American statutes or courts according to any religious doctrine foreign to the constitutional order. The United States guarantees freedom of religion, not the freedom to impose alternative legal frameworks that conflict with equal protection, due process, and individual rights.
The only way to stop it is to stop importing those who practice it because they are commanded to implement Sharia law.
