Ok, before any of you get mad at me let me say I am totally and absolutely psyched about Trump's win and actually think most of the picks for his cabinet are pretty awesome. HOWEVER, as I am not on the Left and have this really bad habit of thinking for myself, there are a couple I'm not thrilled about, and Oregon Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Labor Secretary is one of them. I get it, Trump was basically endorsed by the teamsters when they refused to endorse Kamala Harris and yes, Trump is trying to appeal to a far more diverse group than most Republicans in the past have BUT ... she's just really bad news you guys.
I have seen plenty of posts reminding me that Trump has a plan and I believe that, I do. BUT this one, just no. Forget that Randi Weingarten (you know, Satan herself) was excited about Trump picking Chavez-DeRemer, but she also backed legislation that would destroy independent work/gig work if it was passed at the federal level. Remember the Pro ACT? Yup. That's her.
If she pushed that sort of legislation at a federal level that would nuke many of the people who write on X as today's new media, as well as your friendly neighborhood Twitchy freelancer. So you see why I hear red alarms going off everywhere, yes? And not the kind that confused Jamaal Bowman.

Trump sold us out to repay union chief.
I'm hardly the only one complaining about this pick. Anyone who knows the dangers of unions, especially the teacher's unions, knows this pick is a bad idea.
And Trump is far too smart for this.
If either @BarackObama or @JoeBiden had nominated Lori Chavez-DeRemer Secretary of Labor, Republicans would have unanimously opposed the nomination.

Exactly. This pick sounds like a Biden or Obama pick ...
Here's to hoping she doesn't get through the Senate and Trump can go back to his union/teamster pals and say, 'Hey, I tried,' and then he can pick someone for real and we can get back to winning.
