You don't need to be a libertarian to know that whenever someone starts off a sentence with "The government must implement new regulations to ...", your first response should be to want to smack that person across the face.
You know, figuratively speaking, of course.
Yes, the federal government does need to pass laws and implement regulations. But those rules should be kept to a bare minimum, and they should NEVER interfere with our fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
Rights, for instance, like freedom of speech.
But Democrats abhor those rights and, lately, they aren't afraid to say so. In the 2024 presidential campaign, Tim Walz flat-out stated that he doesn't believe in freedom of speech or the First Amendment.
Two years later, Democrats aren't exactly course-correcting; they're doubling down. This weekend, on the abhorrent Jennifer Welch's podcast, Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy took a break from his cringy walks across his state to openly declare that the left needs government to control social media so that people won't be "fooled" into voting for Donald Trump. Or, we can only assume, any Republican, ever.

The truth is, as always, the exact opposite. Democrats NEED people to be in isolation. The more people join in their communities, particularly local communities, the less likely they are to have, for instance, an online groomer convince them that they were "born in the wrong body."
More important, however, is Murphy's admission that the left will never stop trying to control information so that they are the arbiters of "truth," not the people themselves.

We hope everyone gets out to vote accordingly in the midterms. Because if Democrats gain power in Washington again, they'll bring all of the censorship back faster than Chris Murphy can abandon his wife.
