President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of State, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, has faced all kinds of questions from liberal Senate Democrats ranging from his thoughts on abortion, gay sex and even an integrity lecture from none other than Sen. Bob Menendez. But all the Democrat theatrics might be about to come to a close after this Democrat’s announcement:
After meeting with Mike Pompeo, discussing his foreign policy perspectives, & considering his distinguished time as CIA Director & his exemplary career in public service, I will vote to confirm Mike Pompeo to be our next Secretary of State.
— Senator Joe Manchin (@Sen_JoeManchin) April 23, 2018
The Pompeo confirmation is that much closer to being a done deal:
Pompeo has the votes for full confirmation now https://t.co/mEVM2eAXuR

And that should do it… https://t.co/w1xDAFG3IP

Sen. Joe Manchin joins Sen. Heidi Heitkamp as Dems who will vote "yes" on Pompeo.
Confirmation is more or less a done deal now when it gets to the floor (barring some crazy committee dust-up.) https://t.co/LniyEAaEfe— Phil Mattingly (@Phil_Mattingly) April 23, 2018
Pompeo is more than safe now – with Manchin joining Heitkamp in support. He’ll be confirmed this week even if two Republicans end up voting against him. At least one more Dem will vote for him, I’m told, despite unfavorable vote in committee https://t.co/7tccbGbXYo

Not just a 'yes' vote, an endorsement. => https://t.co/kRwq1UCvvZ

Cory Booker, Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris are among Dems hardest hit:

I will not vote to confirm Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State. Shared my thoughts on my Facebook Page: https://t.co/0ZqoR6E9Tm

Secretary of State and CIA director are very different jobs. Mike Pompeo’s disdain for diplomacy and his divisive remarks toward minority groups lead me to conclude he’s not qualified to lead the State Department. https://t.co/kx8FgI16HX

This week, I voted against the nomination of Rep. Pompeo, questioned Rep. Mulvaney, and said I’d defend women and immigrants.

Al Gore is among those who will be disappointed.
