Chuck Schumer's '51!' brag aged terribly, but at least a Van Halen album is getting fresh attention

On CNN, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced that she would be leaving the Democratic Party and becoming an independent, joining Bernie Sanders and Angus King who also have an “I” after their names (though they all caucus with the Democrats):

Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema left the Democratic Party to become an independent, the lawmaker told CNN.

In an interview with host Jake Tapper, she explained why the decision makes the most sense.

“I’ve never fit neatly into any party box. I’ve never really tried. I don’t want to,” she said. “Removing myself from the partisan structure – not only is it true to who I am and how I operate, I also think it’ll provide a place of belonging for many folks across the state and the country, who also are tired of the partisanship.”

Because of today’s news, Sen. Chuck Schumer’s celebration of Raphael Warnock’s win in Georgie three days ago has aged just a little worse since then:

CORRECTION NEEDED:

Thank you!

Also a Van Halen connection has been spotted (actually “Van Hagar” as it were):

It’s worth noting that “5150” was released in 1986, a couple years after I graduated high school, and Schumer had already been in Congress for a few years (Biden had been in Congress 14 years at the time). If that’s not an argument for term limits nothing is.

So, could Joe Manchin be the next Democrat senator to go Independent and technically leave the Dems at 49?

Stay tuned! The next couple of years could be interesting and hopefully gridlocked so Biden and the Dems can’t ram through any more insane levels of spending that will only worsen inflation.
