Before I get to the headline, I want to play off a couple of previous posts that have gone up during my shift. The first is Sam's post advising Rep. Robert Garcia, who famously posted "LAWYER UP" on Election Night, to lawyer up. As Sam reported, Alan Dershowitz told Greta Van Susteren that if the Democrats are challenged in court, Garcia's post would be obvious evidence of his predetermination and motivation to prosecute his political enemies. When I read the headline, I thought Sam might have been writing about this advice for Garcia to lawyer up — he's being sued for defamation.

Lawyer up, Garcia.
Second, I wanted to say something about Salon shutting down after 31 years. The headlines screenshotted in that post make it clear why it's no big loss. I used to read Salon back in the early days, on a Macintosh Performa 6116 (the "pizza box") dialed into AOL, when it was sponsored by Adobe (the makers of Photoshop) and featured pieces by Jake Tapper (pre-hackery) and the brilliant Camille Paglia. In any case, as a favor, I wanted to help spread Amanda Marcotte's plea to subscribe to her Patreon. I'm guessing she was the last full-time writer there:
It's true. Salon is closing its doors. I'm scared, but I have plans, and it's just a matter of implementing them. If you want to hire me, DM me! I'm easy to work with, ask anyone who has. Subscribe to my Patreon. It will explain more.

Here's what's probably Salon's last post, fittingly:
The midterms showcased queer power, and offered a clear-eyed look at the backlash to come https://t.co/4IeMXB9twd

@Salon I don’t care how bad a candidate is as long as they’re queer and Democrat.

@Salon Hard to believe this piece didn't generate enough interest and revenue to sustain your business another 31 years!

But to get back to the headline. As I told my wife on Wednesday morning, every Democrats that ran won (except in Florida). The Democrats really took "vote blue, no matter who" seriously.
Case in point: Back in September, I wrote about a North Carolina state candidate who posted a photo of herself smiling while touring the ovens at Dachau with the caption, "This is where Trump supporters belong.” Why you would pose smiling in front of the ovens in a concentration camp is a question to which I don't have an answer. As I reported, Shelly Headen had also posted on social media, "I think our only hope is an attack on US soil … preferably Alabama, Louisiana … where the stupid people live."
Proving that Democrats will vote blue no matter who, Headen will be heading to the North Carolina House in January.

@umichvoter I live in this district and the amount of special interest money spent against her was staggering. Mailers every day for months. The blue wave in NC was truly amazing to see.

@umichvoter The unending capacity for human hate is astounding

@umichvoter Only a lizard person grins in a death camp. She's a perfect fit for the Democrat party.

The replies are filling with liberals posting "Based" and "Lioness." They really do want us dead.
