Twitchy just reported on a shot/chaser discovered by Sen. Eric Schmitt. Back in January, the New York Times assured us that, “No, Biden is not trying to ban gas stoves.” On Saturday, however, Fox News reported that the White House climate czar met privately with an ecology group pushing gas stove bans. Back in January, the Washington Post reported that it was Republicans who had “thrust gas stoves … into the culture wars.” Conservatives were having a meltdown over something that wasn’t going to happen. Then, just a few days later, WaPo reported that there’s growing pressure to ban gas stoves.
Now the New York Times is offering advice to those who want to switch to electric stoves, because gas stoves are bad for the environment and your health — although the studies linking gas stoves to, say, childhood asthma are sketchy at best, unless you happen to cook with your kitchen sealed airtight with plastic sheeting.
Quitting gas stoves makes sense for the environment and your health. But not all buildings are equipped to go electric. Can your co-op board stop you from switching? https://t.co/uB3OtosWhl

So who is it again pushing gas stoves into the culture wars?

The amount of gas used in cooking stoves is so small it cannot even be measured. Yet here’s the NYT’s with yet another non-science-based approach to this issue.

I thought the war on gas ovens was a right wing conspiracy theory?

Ending the print edition of your paper makes sense for the environment. Do it! Now!

But I thought it was a right wing conspiracy that they wanted to take away our gas stoves? 🤔

There is no actual evidence gas stoves are bad. This is just another attack on oil and natural gas. I will not give up my gas stove

Well, AOC had said they’re connected to cognitive decline, and she has a gas stove in her apartment, so …
