All of the wrong people — Jen Psaki, Joy Reid, Tom Nichols, Joe Scarborough — are fans of Gen. Mark Milley, and why not? He’s a hero who prevented a nuclear war with China in their eyes. As we reported earlier, Glenn Greenwald had a great thread on when “liberal media stars” denied there was a deep state (that they’re now cheering).

The Permanent Bureaucracy formed first, a vast horde of unelected unionized "public servants" who are almost impossible to fire. Congress offloaded more and more of its power to agencies and regulations, placing that power beyond the reach of voters.

Do you recall Milley running for any office during the 2016 or 2020 elections? Do you recall him explaining HIS foreign policy to voters and humbly asking for their support? Where could we have gone to vote against Milley's foreign policy and diplomatic agenda?

A good point:
I don't think it's just the Left. It's also a big chunk of the neocon, Country Club "Right". The Deep State is nonpartisan, though it has sided mostly with Democrats since Obama after allying with neocon Republicans in the years prior. Its ideology has mostly shifted Leftward.
