OK, OK … we get that Democrats are anxious to set expectations for what exactly might be in that classified memo from the House Intelligence Committee, the subject of a #ReleaseTheMemo hashtag campaign.
Members of the House have been allowed to read it, and Republicans were the first to call for its contents to be made public. Rep. Ted Lieu (D-The Resistance) on Monday revealed that he’s read it too, and it’s akin to Geraldo Rivera hyping the opening of Al Capone’s (empty) vault on live TV.
As a Member of the House Judiciary Committee, I read the partisan, classified Nunes House Intel memo. I can't talk about it. However, here's an analogy.
Remember Geraldo Rivera and the infamous Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults? It's like that, but Geraldo Rivera has more integrity.

That’s funny … Rep. Mark Meadows read the same memo and called it “absolutely shocking.” Rep. Trey Gowdy didn’t offer an analogy when asked by Fox News about the contents of the memo, but he certainly did paint a picture without disclosing any specifics:
Trey Gowdy: If you’re interested in the dossier, who paid for it, and Christopher Steele’s relationship with Hillary Clinton – you’ll want this memo to come out pic.twitter.com/GDB0psyqNB

Yes, we want it to come out, even if Lieu considers it a big nothingburger. The thing is … if it really is analogous to Capone’s empty vault, why are Democrats crafting their own memo to counter the release of this one? Rep. Adam Schiff at first opposed the memo’s release, but now that it looks like it’ll be made public, Democrats on the committee have written their own memo.

And don’t forget, Schiff and Sen. Dianne Feinstein even urged Facebook and Twitter to investigate if Russian ‘bots were behind the #ReleaseTheMemo campaign … even though the memo’s apparently a big yawn.
And remember this hot take from Resistance leader Scott Dworkin, who hadn’t had access to the memo, but nonetheless said people asking for it to be released were “traitors”? Hey Rep. Lieu, you might want to give Scott a call and talk him down from the ledge.
There is absolutely no piece of paper like this stupid memo Devin Nunes is blabbing about that changes the fact dozens of Trump team members were in direct contact Russians during the campaign, transition & while in the White House. Anyone saying “release the memo” is a traitor.

It’ll be interesting to see, then, who votes how.
Lawmakers are starting to trickle into the House Intel Committee's secure spaces in advance of likely vote to release the Nunes memo.

Asked about whether there is any plan to release any of the underlying intelligence behind the memo, Rep. Trey Gowdy says, “No, not that I know of.”

If a Democrat votes to release the memo, does that make him a traitor?
Well then, Teddy-boy, you won't mind a bit if the rest of us have a look at it, now will you? https://t.co/C53XR6IOtX

He must not.

If it's no big deal, why are you lunatics freaking out over it??
Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.

Great @tedlieu . Now can the rest of us idiots have a see for ourselves so we can draw our own conclusions? I'm sure we can figure things out.
Everything is partisan. Look at the propaganda wing (#MSM) of the Democrat Party. Collusion, cover up, obfuscation are what they do. https://t.co/wL8muVup4t— Ed (@Kalifornia4Cruz) January 29, 2018
Regardless of the contents of the Nunes memo, one thing’s for sure: the media will be spinning this one hard.
