If you have ever seen Blazing Saddles you will understand me when I say 'Where All Da Feminists At?' was the first thing that ran through my head when I saw this tweet by Collin Rugg fly past my timeline on X.

Ok, we get it. There are a ton of fourth-wave feminists who have remained silent or actively supported trans athletes in women's sports. HOWEVER, there have been some VERY vocal opponents of the practice as well as standing up for safe spaces for biological women. J.K. Rowling is one of those people and she also had a comment on the question proposed by Rugg.

I get her point. She has been very vocal and gotten a lot of flak for it. Do I think people are just ignoring her voice? No, I do not think they are ignoring other feminist voices, it is just that the Left in this instance just as they have been doing in most instances in the last decade have a VERY LOUD very constant voice.
They scream, cry, and throw tantrums until they drown out other voices and ideas. In this case, no matter how many speak out or where they may be from on the spectrum of Left versus Right politically, if they speak about trans issues at all they are going to be labeled a transphobe and the trans radical activists will come after everything they can, jobs, family, anything to shut them up. So maybe there are tons of people saying it is wrong but they are just not being heard. Not because they are women but because the Left is so much louder.

I have a personal stake in this fight. Both of my daughters grew up in martial arts. If they had to do tournaments against guys, which happens in some martial arts when they are younger, it is very hard to beat them and can be discouraging. I also know someone who is a trans woman and I love them very much. I use the pronouns and the new name because I love them. I would also tell them I love them but I would not want my daughter to have to fight them in a match and even though I love them I would not want my daughter to have to change in front of them in a locker room.
I can not wait for the 'This was wrong and it was not a big deal' phase of trans athletes in women's sports and spaces phase to come along. MAYBE then some of the people who have been speaking up all along the way who have always leaned Left like J.K. will understand how conservatives feel every other month.
How many conservatives do you know were told to sit down and shut up and literally had to watch their businesses close and crumble during COVID? How many of us do you know that said, 'Man the mortgage bubble is gonna be bad' during the Clinton years and warned about the pop to come and then everyone acted like none of us yelled about it?
How about a lot of conservatives who took so much crap for standing up and saying The Patriot Act along with the NDAA might not be a great idea and should not pass? I personally went to DC to protest the Patriot Act even though I liked Bush but how much privacy have we given up since then? And after people realized it was a lot, they never said ' Oh I remember you talking about that!' They just sweep it under the rug and move along.
I hope that quiet phase of 'Yeah that was wrong' is around the corner very soon, but I doubt it. The Radical Trans Movement has a lot of anger and steam left in them and the Left seems to be choosing them over biological girls for the time being. Hopefully, people might start to actually hear the voices of J.K. Rowling and some of us regular nobodies like myself.
Fighting the Left in my eyes is like fighting the Dark Arts. Even though I'm afraid I have to disagree with Rowling's conclusion that people are not listening to her because she is a woman, I will end this one with a Harry Potter quote about the dark arts, because I am a PROUD Harry Potter nerd.
