What a difference two months make. I watched from my vacation in Greece as the Left marched for 'No Kings' and now I'm sitting at my desk watching as they coronoate their next king: Gavin Newsom.

See. It's (D)ifferent when they do it.
The girlies are making edits of Gavin Newsom to Lana Del Rey music on TikTok.

It’s over. He is now the King of America, I don’t make the rules. pic.twitter.com/VMzk26SRZS
I'm never surprised, but I am always amazed by how utterly tone deaf and inconsistent the Democratic Party messaging is. Just two months ago, their slogan was 'No Kings.' How soon they forgot, huh?
Now Gavin Newsom's self-aggrandizing X account and failed Democratic social media influencer Olivia Julianna have completely nuked that messaging and said, 'You know what? All hail King Gavin!' Outside of Stephen Colbert's viewing audience, there wasn't much weight behind the 'No Kings' movement to begin with. President Trump never claimed to be the king, he's never acted like a king, and he has no intention of being a king.
Gavin Newsom posted a fake TIME Magazine cover with him wearing a crown. Any ground gained with normies is now lost in the wave of Democratic hypocrisy.
And, as always, they're putting the cart before the horse and coronating Gavin Newsom as inevitable in 2028. Some on the Right are warning he poses a threat because he's good-looking and has name recognition. It reminds me a bit of the dire warnings that Democrats were going to nominate Michelle Obama and blow the GOP out of the water.
My prediction: Gavin Newsom will not be the 2028 Democratic Party nominee. On the off chance he is, he will not win the election.
How do I know?
Ask TikTok darling Kamala Harris. 'Girlies' were making TikTok edits of her, too. It was 'Brat summer' and she had the 'vibes' to be the next president. How'd that work out for her?
She's off drinking vodka and writing books about the 'broken system' that denied her the chance to be our first Black female POTUS while Donald Trump is in the Oval Office.
Gavin Newsom lacks the record and the political acumen needed to convince voters he's worth elevating to higher office. And he certainly doesn't have the intelligence. He thinks if he does enough podcasts, lies about his positions on hot-button issues (like boys in girls' sports), and has driven a once-great city (San Francisco) and a great state into the ground under his leadership.
In June, Newsom's approval rating in California was 44%. In early August, just 23% of California Democrats supported Newsom's bid for the presidency. Despite the media's insistence that Newsom's gerrymandering feud with President Trump is a winning issue for the Governor, 64% of Californians oppose his plan to do away with the 'independent' gerrymandering committee. In November, his soft-on-crime policies were dealt a blow when voters overwhelmingly approved Prop. 36, a measure that would increase crime penalties for shoplifting and other offenses. Gavin Newsom and his fellow Democrats were angry at voters for forcing them to hold criminals accountable.
The other thing King Gavin seems to forget is this: Donald Trump is serving his last term, even if some prankster sent Gavin Newsom a 'Trump 2028' hat. Gavin's basing his entire campaign, today, around running against a guy who will not be on the ballot in three years.
And, contrary to what some argue, the GOP has not been reformed by President Trump. That much is painfully obvious as some Republicans in Congress infight and drag their feet on passing President Trump's agenda. We're now seven months into this term, and the biggest piece of legislation to make it to Trump's desk was the Big Beautiful Bill. When President Trump is no longer a political force, the GOP will go back to largely being what it was pre-Trump.
Gavin Newsom is wasting all this time, energy, and what political capital he may have on targeting an opponent he won't be facing and a party that only exists in his Brylcreem-addled brain.
So, by all means, coronate King Gavin now, Democrats.
Good luck with that.
