Who could have guessed that a photo of Secretary of State Marco Rubio slouched on a couch would become a meme template for the ages? You’re probably familiar with the original Vanity Fair photo of an exhausted Rubio, looking straight ahead during a tense March 2025 Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Rubio has been called the ‘Secretary of Everything’ based on the numerous hats he's worn while serving in the Trump White House. Now, anytime a story breaks, there’s a meme of Rubio dreading that he’s being called on to fill yet another job opening. The ‘Rubio Realizing’ meme has become so popular that the White House framed a collage of the pics for Rubio’s birthday. A photo of the gift just dropped.
