Omnipresent Obama: Former President Says He Emulates George Washington With ‘Quiet’ Post-White House Life

AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are making their media rounds this week. It’s a lead-up to this Friday’s official opening of the Obama Presidential Center and Library in Chicago. Despite being everywhere for the last several years, the Obamas claim they are trying to enjoy a quiet life out of the spotlight. Well, they’re doing a horrible job at it. During an ingratiating interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, the former Oval Office occupant likened himself to the Father of the United States.

In a fawning promo for the Obamas, GMA asks Barack how he finds a balance of staying quiet or speaking out post-presidency.

He says his initial goal was to emulate George Washington:

"I've done my done my stint, and now I'm going back home."

“What I've tried to do is move from player to coach."

This schtick is really something.

He’s ever-present on podcasts, network interviews, campaign trails and railing at every major Democrat event.

He can’t stand being out of the spotlight for five minutes, and it’s been like that for ten years.

Here’s GMA’s Robin Roberts interviewing the omnipresent Obamas. (WATCH)

By George, the man’s got an enormous ego.

Posters say Barack Obama has done anything but vanish from public view. That’s because President Donald Trump has been erasing his legacy.

For a political party so obsessed with “norms”, their hero completely shattered the heretofore understood norm of ex-POTUS’s quietly riding off into the sunset, away from the political fray.

Sadly, every time Obama does this, he just cements his underwhelming legacy of Chicago community organizer and activist who never came close to achieving his vast potential.

A more cynical view - with merit - is that Obama’s entire legacy is the rise of Donald Trump, beginning way back in 2011 where Obama famous mocked Trump at the WHCD dinner, continuing with how Obama’s hard left governance created the massive backlash that was Trump 1.0.

In any case, it’s as if Obama is desperately trying to re-write a legacy that is now long since forged.

The constant idolization of the Obamas by Democrats and the legacy media is stomach-turning.

Commenters say it’s also exhausting.

We deserve a break.

Speaking of avoiding the spotlight, posters say that’s impossible when you’re a former First Lady who decides to launch your own podcast.

We’d appreciate a quiet Michelle Obama so we could better enjoy our lives.

Commenters say Barack Obama’s assertion he’s no longer a star on the field or court rings false when we know what he’s been up to for the last decade.

You’ll never be as high as the Obamas are on their own supply.
