Finger on the pulse: Charlie Crist says he 'would be open to' a mask mandate as Florida Governor

Recently, The Atlantic published a piece by Prof. Emily Oster suggesting that we “declare a pandemic amnesty” and find it in our hearts to forgive everyone who got it wrong during the course of the COVID pandemic. And we could maybe consider being down for something like that if everyone who got it wrong actually took ownership of getting it wrong and were willing to apologize for shaming those who wound up getting it right.

But that’s not what’s happening. Too many of the people who got it wrong aren’t sorry they got it wrong, and some are even doubling down on the wrongness.

One of those people is Florida Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Charlie Crist, who recently said that, as governor, he “would be open to” mask mandates if “scientists” advise it:

Fortunately, Charlie Crist is not gonna be Governor of Florida. But it’s good to know where he stands on science, which is evidently firmly against it.

As always, Charlie Crist’s timing is impeccable.

Charlie Crist is illiterate.

Well, they could … they just choose not to. At least the really, really stupid ones choose not to.

If he wanted to go down in a tornado of flames, what would he be doing differently?

Maybe Charlie Crist could teach that class when he’s finished getting clobbered by Ron DeSantis.
