She is not a professional culture warrior.
She is not on a book tour.
She is just a woman who has apparently reached her limit with the idea that a man can announce himself into the category and everyone else has to rearrange reality around the announcement. The replies split right down the usual fault line. One camp treated basic sex as optional. The other — including people who have been screamed at for years for saying the same thing — pointed out that biology already settled the question and no amount of sincerity changes it.
I am tired of pretending this is complicated. You can change your clothes, your name, and the words you prefer. You cannot change the material facts that matter when the room, the team, the prison, or the shelter is labeled for women. That is not hate. That is pattern recognition. The people most offended by that observation are usually the ones who benefit most from erasing it.
Nearly two million people saw the exchange. Thousands rushed in to explain that they, in fact, do get to decide. That reaction is the tell. If your entire political project depends on forcing other people to deny what they can see with their own eyes, you do not have a rights movement. You have a demand for compliance.Women’s spaces and women’s language were not created so activists could treat them like a public resource. They exist because sex is real and because the consequences of pretending otherwise fall on women first. I will keep saying that until the servers melt.
Reality is not up for a vote, and it never was.
