As Twitchy readers know, a writer for the Colbert Show named Ariel Dumas wrote a pretty nasty tweet about Kavanaugh claiming if nothing else she was just glad they ruined his life. Pushback on the tweet was MONUMENTAL so she deleted the tweet and locked her account … then later issued this apology.
The last couple of weeks have been hard for the country and for me personally. The complexity of frustration, anger and sadness can’t be accurately conveyed on twitter, and I regret my tone-deaf attempt at sarcasm in the wake of it.

We’re gonna guess it’s been harder on Kavanaugh.
And on his family.
Call us crazy …
That wasn't sarcasm, dear.
It was a candid peek behind the curtain at a garbage human being.
You're fooling no-one.

We believe she’s sorry … that she got dragged.
Not necessarily that she’s sorry for tweeting something pretty awful about Kavanaugh.
“I’m sorry I revealed what an awful human being I am. Can we just pretend it was a joke?” are the best apologies.

Seeing more than a few of those today.
Liar. You said what you said, you meant what you said and once exposed are now trying to use a half assed apology to masquerade your actions.

How about an actual apology to Kavanaugh and his family instead of a gutless tweet like this? Too much to expect?
— Misanthropical Punch (@MisanthroPunch) October 8, 2018
An actual apology?! Like a real one where she tells him she’s sorry?
Oppressor.
You’re happy to ruin another persons life?? That’s really twisted. You need help.

She admitted as much.
The “it was just a joke” excuse. In this case: “sarcasm”. There is a reason why the Colbert show isn’t funny….

Like Kimmel, Colbert’s writers are angry, not funny.
And Dumas proved it.
