Independence Day is just a couple of days away, and many Americans are already celebrating with weekend activities and parties across the country (anyone who watched Live PD this weekend knows this is true), and it’s easy to forget what’s most important about this holiday.
This patriot gets it … read the whole thing.
I get super emotional every year when it gets close to Independence Day because I love this country so hard. Just bear with me.

I think about those first farmers armed with little more than muskets and a desire to live free, and I think about those patriots aboard United 93 who were armed with even less.

I think about those 17-19 year old men charging the beaches at Normandy, and that small group of American Marines who quelled the Barbary Pirates.

I think about those men who never returned from a war they didn’t want in Vietnam, and the ones who made it home to be called baby killers and worse.

I think about the great American innovators and industrialists who carried this world into the modern age, and about my USAF pilot neighbors who fly into places we can’t even imagine.

And I think about how I thank God every day that I was born in the greatest country He ever saw fit to place on this Earth.

Wha?
Raise your hand if you’re tired of people acting like we should apologize for loving this country and being proud to be American?
You’ll have to forgive this editor, it’s a little tough to write with BOTH HANDS in the freakin’ air.
I get emotional as well, but for the reason that I hit the country lotto when my parents decided to emigrate to the USA. How my parents assimilated and wanted to be American. Hey their accents are comedy gold for me but that's why I love them.

Love this.
And this guy’s parents.
I've never won the lottery, but I was born in the US, which is pretty much the same thing.
