As Twitchy readers know, Elon Musk called down the thunder on Kathy Griffin and other bratty blue-checks like Valerie Bertinelli and Sarah Silverman for IMPERSONATING him. They weren’t just making fun of him, they weren’t trolling him, as verified accounts they were literally using his name and likeness and tweeting horrible and stupid crap. In Griffin’s case, it was political, making it look as if Musk was voting for Democrats.
She was suspended.
Hey, he warned them.
Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended

NBC News’ Ben Collins compared Musk’s ‘line’ when it comes to freedom of speech to 4Chan and animal child porn … implying that Musk was just being a big baby about it when he suspended Griffin.
Yeah, NBC News is all we really need to know about this guy:
Like I always say with content moderation, every social media site owner who is “pro free speech” meets their line eventually.
For 4chan, it was anime child porn. For Facebook and YouTube, it was white nationalist terror. For Elon, it was people making fun of him. https://t.co/aNZmqYwrJu

Hope Kathy sees this, brah.
RedSteeze was good enough to make a total fool of Collins for his comment:
Ben of course is dishonest and impersonation has always been a part of Twitter's TOS. It's just being enforced now. https://t.co/ANgDn3CeJI
— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) November 6, 2022
Bingo. It’s always been against TOS to impersonate someone else. Heck, that was the whole point of verification in the very beginning, so that people would know it was Adam Sandler or really James Woods when they’d see their tweets.
It wasn’t until Twitter started discriminating against certain people (and selling verifications?) that the blue-check became a status symbol.
Steeze continued:
If anyone with a blue check changed their screen name to Ben Collins and his avatar then tweeted "Pizzagste is real" spirit cooking or anything, Ben would have been on the phone with Gadde and account suspended in two minutes. No difference, and he knows it.

Abso-freaking-lutely.
But since it’s Elon and all of the smug blue-checks are mad at him for suspending Griffin for openly breaking TOS he would never admit it.
Suspending for TOS violations vs. suspending for telling a journalist to "learn to code"
— Fusilli Spock (@awstar11) November 7, 2022
Awww yes, remember that? Or when they were suspending users for using the word ‘pansy’?
I pulled a 12-hour timeout for telling a "journalist" to LTC a while back. That's when I started using this. pic.twitter.com/GZCq3QlvVq

Violating the ToS to influence an election.

Have you ever seen anything like the immolation of the left over the last week? It really is like the corporations got wind of the polls are are scrambling.
— James (@metalguitarlife) November 7, 2022
They don’t know whether to scratch their watches or wind their butts.
And he’s been complaining non-stop about the dangers of impersonation ever since Musk freed the blue check.
— Reclaiming My Everything (@WhyIsKorisTaken) November 7, 2022
Because only THEY deserve the blue-check.
Not us lowly plebs.
